Direct licensing of Sketchbook Pro is available for enterprises and educational institutions that require centralized license management for a large number of users.

These licenses are purchased directly from Sketchbook, not through the Microsoft Store or Apple App Store.

Direct Licensing FAQ

How will I manage my seats?

When payment is received and your purchase is complete, you’ll receive an email from LicenseSpring with details on how to log in to the license management portal. The email will go to the primary contact designated during purchase. If you have a procurement department making your purchases, please make sure they use the license manager’s contact name and email for the primary contact, they can also set a separate billing contact. If you did not receive your email, please reach out to us at sales@sketchbook.com.

Where do I download the installer?

Secure links to the macOS and Windows installers are in the license management portal; click on any seat on your order and check the “Product Download” section on the detail page (all download links are the same for all activations). If you have any trouble locating the download links, please reach out to us at sales@sketchbook.com so we can send them to you.

Can I deploy using Intune?

Are direct licenses single-user or networked?

Sketchbook Pro direct subscription licenses are node-locked, the seat is connected to the device it is activated on. However you can deactivate a specific device in the Help menu, and then re-activate the seat on a different device.

Are licenses cross-platform?

Yes, your seats can be unlocked on either macOS or Windows depending on your requirements, there is no need to define the platform when making your purchase. Linux is not supported.

Is the app different from the one purchased via the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store?

The features and functionality of Sketchbook Pro are the same whether they are purchased and installed as a perpetual license through the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store, or as a subscription license purchased directly and installed through a downloaded package.

How are app updates distributed?

When an update is available we will send a notification to the license manager with the link to the download and the release notes for the update. The license manager can then decide when to deploy an update, they do not occur automatically.

Why subscription?

Offering direct licensing requires us to operate and maintain services for license management, payment processing, and distribution that would otherwise be maintained by the applicable app store. These services are a recurring cost that we are not able to support with a perpetual license model.

Can I convert a Microsoft Store or Mac App Store purchase to a direct licensing subscription, or vice versa?

No, we do not have the ability to turn on/off individual licenses on either the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store, licensing is managed by Apple and Microsoft respectively. Therefore we do not have a way to convert a store license into a direct licensing subscription, or vice versa.

What is the return policy?

You may initiate a return of your purchase for any reason within 30 days of order completion (when payment is received and license keys are issued or renewed) for a refund. Please contact us at sales@sketchbook.com to start the return and refund process. Return requests must come from either the primary contact or the billing contact in order to be validated.
