We’ve also made the following updates and fixes:

  • Improved drag and drop into document functionality.
  • Export to Save Video/Save Image crash has been resolved.

What’s New in SketchBook Motion version 1.1.7

In this version, we improved the scene creation experience:

  • We streamlined the scene creation workflow by grouping all new file options onto the same screen.
  • You can now import a SketchBook TIFF from iCloud or Dropbox. Bring in layered TIFF files directly into Motion (layer groups and blending modes are not preserved).
  • You can now drag and drop files into the app one of two ways: drag a file into the Gallery or into the canvas.
    • Dragging a SketchBook TIFF into the Gallery creates a new scene with all the layers.
    • Dragging an image into the Gallery creates a new scene with the image on one layer.
    • Dragging a TIFF into the canvas flattens the image and places it onto a new layer.
    • Dragging an image into the canvas places the image onto a new layer.

We’ve also made the following updates and fixes:

    • The UI and workflow for file creation as been updated and improved.
    • Additional Example content as been added to inspire and further demonstrate how certain behaviors can be applied.
    • We have a couple more background options: comic panel and lumber.
    • If, in the past, you experienced an issue with the loss of background color, this has now been resolved.

SketchBook Motion now comes with 3 free scene saves. Introducing monthly subscription and get a 7 day free trial, so you can check out the benefits of both SketchBook Motion and our core drawing app, SketchBook. Keep the feedback coming, and we’ll keep making SketchBook Motion better.
