Trial version

Since SketchBook is on different platforms, there are trials for each platform. Here is the common information regarding a SketchBook trial. For specific information for a platform, see the section pertaining to it.

What do I get with the trial?

You get tutorials and the full Pro feature sets on all your machines (Windows/Mac) and devices.

How do I know how many days do I have left?

When you sign in, there will be messaging letting you know how many days you have left. See below for specifics on the platform you’re interested in.

What happens when my trial ends?

If you didn’t turn off automatic renewal or cancel your trial, then you will automatically start  a monthly subscription and keep the Pro tools. Log in to load the Pro toolset. If you don’t, you will be running the free version.

If you did turn off Automatic Renewal, SketchBook reverts to the FREE version and you can continue using it. However, if you would like to keep using the Pro tools and use SketchBook either on a machine or on multiple devices, you will need to purchase a subscription. If you only use SketchBook on one device, check out the Pro Tools.

I don’t want my home screen to say Free Trial

Your screen will display the Free Trial option because you’re running the free version and have never used the trial. To get rid of this option:

Give the trial a try and choose one of the following options:

  • Let the trial run out and automatically continue as a monthly subscriber
  • Cancel your trial before it is runs out (see the section below) and continue as a free user
  • Before the trial runs out, turn off Automatic Renewal in Subscription Management, finish the trial, then continue as a free user

How to cancel my free trial

Your trial will time out. At that point, if you cancelled the automatic renewal process, you will be running the free version of SketchBook. If you didn’t and got SketchBook from an app store (not SketchBook.com), you will automatically be started on a monthly subscription plan.

Follow the instructions below to cancel the renewal process and not be charged once your trial has ended. You will still be able to use the trial until it expires. Once the trial is over, your app will change to the free version.

  1. In iTunes, along the right, tap the Account link.
  2. On the Account Information page, scroll down to Settings and next to Subscriptions, tap Manage.

SketchBook.com

Since this method for accessing the trial didn’t require a credit card, when you’re trial expires, you will just be in free mode. If you would like to purchase a subscription, see the section that follows.

How to purchase a desktop subscription once your trial expires

If your trial expired and you want to keep the SketchBook Pro toolset, you’ll need to purchase a subscription, if you opted out of the auto-renewal. There are two subscription options to choose from: monthly and yearly. For the latest prices, go to www.sketchbook.com and scroll to the bottom of the page.

If you would like iCloud storage, you will need to purchase SketchBook for Desktop from the Mac App Store, as the regular Mac version doesn’t offer this option. The regular Mac version does get updated more frequently than the Mac App Store version, however, so the decision is up to you.

  1. In the SketchBook menu bar, select My Account > SketchBook Subscription. The SketchBook Subscription option in Autodesk SketchBook
  2. In the new window, one of the following options will appear: Ready to buy or Buy. Tap the one that appears.Buying a SketchBook subscription
  3. Fill in the required information and follow the instructions.

Once you have finished with your purchase, click here if you have questions for what to do once you’ve purchased your subscription.
