How to replace a selection

Not available to Free users

Replace is the default selection setting. So if it’s the default setting, when would you ever use Replace outside of your initial selection? Say you have made a selection, added to it a few times and realized that that just wasn’t working. At this point you might want to start again, so Replace would come in handy.

Replacing a selection in SketchBook for Desktop (Pro)

Not available to Free users

Once a selection is made, tap Replace, then tap-drag to capture a new selection.

Replacing a selection in SketchBook for Mobile (Pro)

Not available to Free users

Once a selection is made, tap Selection editing tools icon in the mobile version of SketchBook, then tap-drag to capture a new selection.

Replacing a selection in SketchBook for Windows 10 (Pro)

Replace is the default selection setting. So, when would I ever use Replace outside of my initial selection? Say you have made a selection, added to it a few times and realized that that just wasn’t working, so you want to start again. Tap Selection editing tools icon in the mobile version of SketchBook, then tap-drag to capture a new selection, instead of cancelling the selection, choosing a Selection tool, and then tap-dragging. It saves you time.
